‘Easy Indian Food Anyone Can Make’

Social Media Cooking Star Shadi Faleel Celebrates Successful Launch of Debut Cookbook

Food lovers, media, influencers and content creators came together in London this week to celebrate the launch of Easy Indian Food Anyone Can Make, the debut cookbook from social media sensation Shadi Faleel, published by Penguin Random House.

The launch event, held at ISSO, Canary Wharf, welcomed guests from across the food, publishing and influencer industries to mark a major milestone for one of the UK’s fastest-growing culinary creators, whose easy-to-follow recipes have attracted a global audience of more than 1.8 million followers over her social media platforms.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of delicious food, interviews, networking and book signings as Shadi shared the remarkable journey that has taken her from a successful career in banking to becoming one of the most recognised online food personalities in the UK.

Born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Shadi’s cooking reflects her unique heritage, combining Sri Lankan Muslim traditions with South Indian influences passed down through generations of her family. After spending more than a decade working in banking in Dubai, she later moved to the UK, where she began sharing her family recipes online.

What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a global community of home cooks inspired by her warm, approachable style and her ability to simplify traditional recipes without compromising on flavour or authenticity.

Speaking at the launch, Shadi said: “This book is incredibly personal to me. Every recipe tells a story about my family, my heritage and the people who inspired me to cook. I never imagined that sharing recipes online would one day lead to publishing a cookbook with Penguin Random House. My hope is that this book gives people the confidence to cook delicious Indian food at home, regardless of their experience in the kitchen.”

The cookbook features many of Shadi’s most popular online recipes alongside exclusive new dishes, all created with busy families and everyday home cooks in mind.

Guests sampled a selection of recipes from the book, met Shadi throughout the afternoon and celebrated the growing influence of diverse food creators within mainstream publishing.

Published by Penguin Random House, Easy Indian Food Anyone Can Make is now available to purchase online at Amazon , Blackwells and book.org and through major retailers and through major book retailers.
