Warrior competition

The international 12th Annual Warrior Competition began on Sunday at King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center in Jordan’s capital Amman.

A total of 40 teams representing 25 countries participate in this year’s competition, which will last five days until Thursday, state-run Petra news agency reported. Each year, the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) invites Jordanian and international teams, ranging from elite special forces to military and law enforcement units, to join in the event to compete in a variety of challenging tasks meant to test their skills and endurance. The competition, first launched in May 2009, is part of the JAF’s annual plans and training programs to improve the level of efficiency and preparedness among its personnel so that they can meet operational needs and tackle potential threats.
