Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to Skip Royal Easter

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will miss Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle, making alternative plans while King Charles and Queen Camilla attend with Prince and Princess of Wales, reports Asian Lite Newsdesk

Princesses Beatrice of York and Eugenie of York will not attend the Royal Family’s traditional Easter Sunday church service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, this year, sources say. The sisters have reportedly made “alternative plans” for the holiday, the BBC reported.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Queen Consort will attend the Easter Matins service, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales, who missed the event last year. The gathering is an annual family occasion, with members of the royal household often photographed as they arrive.

Although Beatrice and Eugenie will be absent this Easter, sources note that the door remains open for the sisters to attend future family events, such as the Christmas gathering at Sandringham. Their absence is understood to be with the agreement of the King. Last Easter, the princesses attended the service alongside their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and mother, Sarah Ferguson.

Since then, Mountbatten-Windsor has faced legal scrutiny, having been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He has since relocated to Sandringham, Norfolk, and no longer resides with his ex-wife, who also left the former family home at Royal Lodge, Windsor.

The family has continued to face public scrutiny over connections to the late US financier Jeffrey Epstein. Questions about links to Epstein remain, with US Congressman Suhas Subramanyam recently requesting that Ferguson testify about her ties to him. Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie recently stepped down from her seven-year role as patron of the charity Anti-Slavery International, a decision that comes amid ongoing media attention on the family’s recent controversies.
