Mohammed bin Zayed receives President of Paraguay

The two sides exchanged views on regional and international developments and regional and international issues of mutual concern…reports Asian Lite News

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received Mario Abdo Benitez, President of Paraguay, who is currently visiting the UAE to attend his country’s National Day celebration at Expo 2020 Dubai.

During the meeting, which took place in the Al Shati Palace, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, reinforcing their cooperation, most notably in economic, investment, commercial, development and renewable energy areas.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments and regional and international issues of mutual concern.

They then addressed Expo 2020 Dubai and the UAE’s successful hosting of the major international event, and Paraguay’s participation, which embodies its cultural and geographical diversity.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said the UAE is keen to widen its cooperation and partnership with all countries of the world, in light of its beliefs in the importance of coordination and mutual respect.

For his part, President Benitez highlighted his happiness at visiting the UAE, lauding support for Paraguay’s medical sector in addressing the pandemic.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Advisor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; and Saeed Abdullah Saif Al Qamzi, UAE Ambassador to Argentina and Non-Resident Ambassador to Paraguay.

The meeting was also attended by Luis Alberto Castiglioni, Minister of Industry and Trade of Paraguay; Celina Lezcano, Minister of Women’s Affairs; Raul Cano Ricciardi, Vice Minister of Economic Relations and Integration; and Jose Aguero Avila, Commissioner-General of Paraguay at Expo 2020 Dubai.
