Chiragi & Team Win Leeds Compassionate City Award

Chiragi Solanki and her team won the 2021 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 (Cultual Project). The award is for the activities of their charity Haqooq: Aspire For More.

“I would like to thank all the inclusive schools who have worked with me to teach differently abled children a new art in the form of Indian dancing and interactive workshops. We educated students on cultural activities including dancing, music, henna and rangoli,” said Chiragi in a statement.

“Our workshops have provided students with a wide array of skills that can be applied to other aspects of their lives and given opportunities to overcome fears and perform in front of large audiences with confidence. A small group of these students have already achieved independence through being able to work alongside me to teach in other schools. Again, a big thank you to everyone involved in this project! Specially Shaheen Akhtar.”
