India rips Pakistan lies

The Indian foreign secretary categorically refuted Pakistan’s allegations about strikes on key Indian installations, including the Air Force Stations in Sirsa and Surat, and the S-400 base in Adampur.

Foreign Secretary of India Vikram Misri on Saturday dismissed Pakistan’s claims of destroying Indian military assets as “a tissue of lies” and condemned Islamabad’s continued targeting of civilians and infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.

During a special press briefing on Operation Sindoor, Misri categorically refuted Pakistan’s allegations about strikes on key Indian installations, including the Air Force Stations in Sirsa and Surat, and the S-400 base in Adampur. “Completely false, as you have seen,” he said, adding that similar claims of attacks on India’s power, cyber, and critical infrastructure were also fabricated. “This is peddled by Pakistani state agencies and must not be believed,” he asserted.

In his closing remarks, Misri called out Pakistan’s “execrable and wanton campaign” against civilians, especially in border states. “There has been a particular focus in its targeting of civilian infrastructure and the population in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab,” he said, citing the shelling of Rajouri that killed Additional District Development Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa as a grim example. He also reported overnight civilian injuries and property damage in Ferozepur and Jalandhar.

Addressing Pakistan’s attempts to sow communal discord within India, Misri said such efforts “are doomed to failure”. He particularly ridiculed what he called “ludicrous” Pakistani claims that Indian missiles were aimed at Shri Amritsar Sahib, calling it part of an agenda to provoke internal unrest.

He also noted remarks by a Pakistani Army spokesman who had expressed surprise that Indian citizens criticise their government. “That is the hallmark of an open and functioning democracy,” Misri said, adding, “Pakistan’s unfamiliarity with that, again, should not be surprising.”

In response to another allegation, Misri dismissed as “frivolous” the charge that Indian missiles had hit Afghanistan. “Afghan people don’t need reminding about which country has repeatedly targeted civilian populations there over the past year and a half,” he said in a pointed reference to Pakistan.
