The newly disclosed images show public figures in Epstein’s social orbit but are not believed to depict any illegal activity or misconduct…reports Asian Lite News
US President Donald Trump on Friday dismissed the significance of recently surfaced photographs showing him alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, describing the images as “no big deal” and insisting he had no personal connection to Epstein.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump was asked about newly released photographs made public by Democratic members of the US House Oversight Committee. The images, drawn from Epstein’s estate, reportedly feature several prominent figures, including Trump, former US President Bill Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
“I haven’t seen them, but I mean, everybody knew this man. He was all over Palm Beach,” Trump said. “He has photos with everybody. I mean, almost there are hundreds and hundreds of people that have photos with him. So that’s no big deal. I know nothing about him.”
The comments came after Oversight Committee Democrats released 19 previously unseen photographs, which they said are part of a much larger cache of more than 95,000 images obtained from Epstein’s estate. The committee said the images raise questions about Epstein’s associations with influential political, business and cultural figures, and renewed calls for the release of all remaining Epstein-related files.
In a post on X, the Oversight Committee said the photographs are “a small fraction” of the material in its possession. “These disturbing images raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world,” the post said, calling for an end to what it described as a White House “cover-up” and urging the full release of files linked to Epstein.
The newly disclosed images show public figures in Epstein’s social orbit but are not believed to depict any illegal activity or misconduct. Details about when the photographs were taken, where they were shot, or who took them remain unclear, according to committee sources.
Among the images released is one that appears to show a bowl of novelty condoms featuring a caricature of Trump’s face with the caption “I’m HUUUUGE!” The condoms, labelled “Trump condom $4.50,” were reportedly produced by a New York City novelty store, Fishs Eddy. Other images include Steve Bannon taking a mirror selfie with Epstein, and a photograph showing Bill Clinton with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and another couple. Another image shows Bill Gates alongside Britain’s Prince Andrew.
The release of the photographs has intensified political sparring in Washington, with Republicans accusing Democrats of selectively releasing material to damage Trump. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson criticised the move, saying House Democrats were “cherry-picking photos with random redactions to try and create a false narrative.”
In a statement cited by CNN, Jackson said Democrats themselves have previously been linked to Epstein through documents and testimony. She pointed to figures such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Delegate Stacey Plaskett, accusing Democrats of hypocrisy in their handling of the issue.
Jackson also said the Trump administration has taken concrete steps to support Epstein’s victims and promote transparency. “The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked,” she said, adding that the administration has called for the release of thousands of pages of documents and pushed for investigations into Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats.
Epstein, a financier with extensive elite connections, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death and the secrecy surrounding related records have continued to fuel conspiracy theories and partisan battles.
While the newly released photographs have reignited public debate, officials acknowledge that the images alone do not establish wrongdoing. Nevertheless, they underscore the enduring political and social fallout of the Epstein case, which continues to cast a long shadow over American public life.
