UAE leaders honour Sheikh Zayed’s legacy 

Reflecting the aspirations of the UAE’s Year of Community, the event also highlighted Sheikh Zayed’s values of generosity, tolerance, and coexistence, and legacy of building a leading model for humanitarian work. 

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended an event marking Zayed Humanitarian Day, a tribute to the enduring social and humanitarian legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. 

Held under the theme Society in Zayed’s Thought, the event was organised by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat in collaboration with the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Abu Dhabi. It explored Sheikh Zayed’s vision for education, community development, and the UAE’s commitment to fostering tolerance and coexistence. 

The occasion aligned with the aspirations of the UAE’s Year of Community, reaffirming Sheikh Zayed’s values of generosity and humanitarian service. His legacy continues to inspire the UAE’s global leadership in philanthropy, social development, and inclusive progress. 

A Legacy of Giving and Coexistence 

The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, hailed Zayed Humanitarian Day as a powerful reminder of the UAE’s deep-rooted commitment to human fraternity, peace, and solidarity. 

Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Council, highlighted the importance of honouring Sheikh Zayed’s vision of compassion and generosity. He noted that the UAE’s founding leader transformed the nation into a beacon of tolerance and coexistence, setting a global standard for humanitarian work. 

“Sheikh Zayed’s legacy remains a guiding force for all who believe in kindness, peace, and unity,” Abdelsalam said. “The UAE, under its wise leadership, continues to carry forward his mission through countless initiatives that bring hope and relief to people worldwide.” 

Through pioneering projects and extensive charitable efforts, the UAE continues to uphold Sheikh Zayed’s humanitarian vision, reinforcing its reputation as a global leader in philanthropy and social welfare. 

Hamdan and Khaled share Iftar in Dubai


H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended an Iftar banquet hosted by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The gathering, held at Nad Al Sheba retreat, reflected the spirit of unity and fraternity during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
Strengthening the UAE’s Development Path
During their discussions, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Crown Prince of Dubai reflected on the UAE’s remarkable progress and future ambitions. They highlighted the nation’s continuous development across various sectors, reinforcing its global standing in innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.
Their Highnesses also deliberated on ways to further enhance the wellbeing of citizens, ensuring that development benefits all members of UAE society. Their vision aligns with the country’s long-standing commitment to prosperity, unity, and forward-thinking governance.
In keeping with the holy month’s spirit, Their Highnesses prayed for the continued health and wellbeing of the UAE’s leadership, as well as for peace, prosperity, and blessings upon the Arab and Islamic nations.

A Gathering of Leaders and Dignitaries

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, alongside senior officials, military commanders, and dignitaries.
Following the discussions, all attendees joined an Iftar banquet, underscoring the values of unity, respect, and collaboration that define the UAE’s leadership and its commitment to the nation’s continued success.
