Baloch Group Protests in Germany Over Rights Abuses

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest rally in Hannover, Germany, on Monday, October 12, accusing Pakistani forces of human rights abuses in Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and military operations. The demonstrators called for independent investigations, accountability and international action to protect civilians in the Pakistani province.

The rally began in the central Kröpcke area of Hannover before proceeding through the city streets to the Lower Saxony State Parliament. According to the BNM, protesters raised slogans outside the parliament and distributed leaflets highlighting what they described as the deteriorating human rights situation in Balochistan.

The participants urged the international community to ensure independent investigations into alleged abuses, hold those responsible accountable and take effective measures to uphold what the group described as the Baloch people’s right to self-determination.

The gathering was addressed by BNM activists Asif Baloch and Aqib Baloch, along with representatives of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), Saeed Momand and Fazal Meena Khel.

According to a statement issued by the BNM, the speakers highlighted allegations of enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention, torture and civilian casualties. They also emphasised the need for unity and practical cooperation between the Baloch and Pashtun communities.

Citing reports by Paank, the BNM’s human rights department, the speakers raised concerns over the alleged extrajudicial killings of several civilians in Balochistan’s Panjgur district in August 2026. The individuals named were Peer Jan, Shoaib Baloch, Hafiz Mudassir, Wazir Ahmed and Jasim.

The protesters called for independent investigations into civilian deaths, including casualties allegedly resulting from military airstrikes and drone attacks across the province.

They also appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organisations to take note of the reported incidents and ensure accountability for those responsible.

Reiterating its position, the BNM said the Baloch people had the right to freedom and to determine their own political future. The group argued that the situation in Balochistan should be addressed through respect for human rights, justice and self-determination rather than the use of force.

The protest in Germany followed a similar demonstration organised by the BNM in Seattle, United States, earlier in October. That rally sought to draw public attention to alleged human rights violations and military operations affecting civilians in Balochistan.

According to the BNM, speakers at the Seattle protest appealed to the American public to raise concerns about the reported abuses. They alleged that financial assistance provided to Pakistan through US taxpayer funds was indirectly supporting the Pakistani military.

The speakers also urged the US government to review its relations with Pakistan and reconsider its assistance, calling for such support to be conditioned on respect for human rights.

The protests in Germany and the United States form part of the BNM’s efforts to bring international attention to the situation in Balochistan. The group continues to call for investigations into alleged abuses and greater international pressure to ensure accountability and civilian protection.
