Kerala CM V.D. Satheesan hosts BRICS creators, showcasing the state’s culture, tourism and investment potential….reports India Daily News Desk
Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan hosted 35 content creators and social media influencers from 19 BRICS member and partner countries at Cliff House in Thiruvananthapuram, using the international gathering to showcase the state’s culture, tourism and investment potential.
Satheesan described the interaction as an opportunity to share the “real Keralam story” with an international audience, highlighting the state’s 600-km coastline, Western Ghats biodiversity, expanding transport infrastructure and skilled workforce.
The Chief Minister also presented Kerala as an emerging investment destination, pointing to its pool of doctors, engineers and IT professionals and its ambitions to become a global hub for Ayurveda and holistic wellness.
He highlighted Kerala’s high literacy and digital development, as well as its focus on sustainable and inclusive growth.
The creators are in Kerala as part of a three-day programme linked to India’s wider BRICS engagement, travelling across the state to experience its food, traditions, landscapes and everyday life. Their content is expected to take Kerala’s cultural and tourism story to audiences across the participating countries.
The delegation visited the Kerala Arts & Crafts Village in Kovalam, where participants interacted with local artists and explored traditional crafts.
Food emerged as a major part of the experience. Egyptian creator Iman, based in Saudi Arabia, praised Kerala’s culture and singled out the traditional sadhya as a highlight, particularly during Onam.
Chinese creator Jamie said she was impressed by Kerala’s hospitality and recalled a traditional thali featuring 32 dishes. Malaysian creator Shah praised the state’s cuisine and the warmth of its people, while Nigerian creator Abdul Hafeez described India’s hospitality as “one of a kind”.
Creators from Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Uganda also shared positive impressions of Kerala’s culture, cuisine and people.
The initiative gives Kerala an opportunity to reach international audiences through independent digital storytellers, while presenting the state’s tourism, creative industries and investment ambitions beyond conventional promotional campaigns.
