Biden’s $50m ad campaign targeting Trump

With Election Day more than four months away, Biden’s campaign seeks to emphasise Trump’s extensive policy proposals for a second term…reports Asian Lite News

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign announced on Monday a $50 million ad campaign running through the end of June. This campaign aims to spotlight Republican Donald Trump’s felony conviction and outline the choice between the candidates ahead of their first debate on June 27 in Atlanta.

With Election Day more than four months away, Biden’s campaign seeks to emphasise Trump’s extensive policy proposals for a second term and energize disaffected Democrats and independents. A significant component of this strategy involves an ad focusing on Trump’s conviction, suggesting a new effort to make Trump’s legal issues a central election topic.

The ad campaign allocates over $1 million toward media targeting Black, Hispanic, and Asian American voters. It includes an ad titled “Character Matters,” which highlights Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts in a New York hush money case. This ad will air on general market television, connected TV, streaming devices, and cell phones in battleground states, as well as on national cable.

The “Character Matters” ad also mentions Trump’s liability for sexual assault and financial fraud in other proceedings and notes that Trump faces felony charges in three separate criminal cases, none of which are likely to go to trial before the November election. The ad contrasts Trump, depicted with a mug shot, with Biden shown high-fiving supporters, stating, “This election is between a convicted criminal who’s only out for himself and a president who’s fighting for your family.”
