Dubai Chambers, Indian envoy explore trade, investment ties

A high-level meeting between Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE was held at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters.

Dubai Chambers has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening trade and investment relations with India following a high-level meeting between Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE. The discussions, held at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, also included Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers.
The meeting underscored the strong economic ties between Dubai and India, highlighting the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors. Al Mansoori emphasised that Dubai Chambers remains dedicated to fostering global partnerships that drive sustainable economic development and mutual growth.

Strengthening Economic Partnerships

Al Mansoori highlighted the significant presence of Indian businesses in Dubai, noting that Indian companies top the list of foreign enterprises operating in the emirate. This reflects the strong and growing economic relationship between Dubai and India, as well as the strategic importance of Dubai as a business hub for Indian enterprises.
“We are committed to strengthening cooperation with our Indian counterparts to create new opportunities for investment and trade. The Indian Business Council, operating under Dubai Chamber of Commerce, plays a crucial role in strengthening these ties and facilitating the growth of Indian enterprises in the region,” he stated.

Focus on Key Sectors
A key focus of the discussions was cooperation in the field of information technology, particularly in advancing digital and technological solutions within the logistics and aviation sectors. Both parties explored the potential for Indian expertise to contribute to Dubai’s ambitions in digital transformation and smart infrastructure.
The meeting also examined the World Logistics Passport initiative, which aims to streamline global trade by reducing costs and shortening supply chain timelines. This initiative, launched by Dubai, presents significant opportunities for Indian businesses to optimise their logistics operations and enhance their access to international markets.

Expanding Indian Business Presence in Dubai
The discussions further highlighted the growth opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs and enterprises in Dubai, reinforcing the emirate’s role as a gateway to global expansion. Dubai International Chamber’s extensive network of 33 representative offices worldwide, including one in Mumbai, serves as a critical resource for Indian businesses looking to enter new markets.
Dubai’s appeal as a leading trade and investment hub for Indian businesses is evident in the growing number of Indian companies joining Dubai Chamber of Commerce. In 2024 alone, 16,623 new Indian businesses became members, reflecting the confidence in Dubai’s business-friendly environment.

A Stronger Future Together
The meeting reinforced Dubai’s commitment to fostering an environment where Indian businesses can thrive, leveraging the emirate’s strategic location, infrastructure, and global connectivity. With a shared vision of economic growth, Dubai and India continue to strengthen their long-standing trade partnership, unlocking new opportunities for collaboration across key sectors.
