BJP to return to power in UP, exit polls reveal

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is projected to emerge on top in the Assembly elections in Punjab, as per exit poll across agencies, reports Asian Lite News

As the last phase of voting concluded, the exit polls for the five states — Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa — were released on Monday evening.

As per directives by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the exit poll results could only be published after the conclusion of voting in all the states.

Several polls have predicted a clear majority for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in UP, Uttarakhand and Manipur.

Goa is expected to see a close fight between BJP and Congress. The results of the polling in all the states will be announced on 10 March.

BJP win in Uttar Pradesh

India Today-My Axis India Exit Poll has predicted a huge win for BJP in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections with 288-326 seats.

According to Matrize, BJP and allied parties will get 262-277 out of 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh. SP and its allied parties will win 140 while BSP will get 17. The majority mark in UP is 202.

The P-MARQ exit poll has predicted that the BJP is likely to cross the majority mark and is projected to win 240 seats.

NewsX-Polstrat has said that the BJP will get 211-225 seats, SP will clinch146-160, BSP 14-24 and Congress two to six.

ETG Research Exit Polls give 230-245 seats for BJP, 150-165 to SP, BSP (5-10) and Congress (2-6).

Jan Ki Baat has given 240 seats for BJP in UP. Chanakya has predicted a landslide win for BJP with 294 seats.

AAP sweep in Punjab?

India Today-My Axis India has predicted a landslide win for Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab with a vote share of 41%, translating into anywhere between 76-90 seats.

The P-MARQ exit polls suggest that the AAP will win Punjab with a majority (62-70 seats) while Congress is trailing it, followed by the SAD alliance and the BJP alliance.

India News-MRC has given AAP 55 seats, India-TV CVoter poll has projected 59-67 seats for Kejriwal’s party. According to the ABP C-Voter exit poll, AAP will emerge as the single-largest party in Punjab with 51-61 seats.

The Chanakya exit poll said that the AAP may bag the most 100 out of 117 seats. Congress emerges as the second-largest party winning 10 seats.

Almost all the exit polls have given a clear majority to AAP, except ABP-Lokniti CSDS, which has given 36-46 seats.

Close fight in Goa

The India Today-Axis My India exit poll has predicted 14-18 seats for the ruling BJP in Goa, 15-20 seats for the Congress, 2-5 seats for the Trinamool Congress and 0-4 seats for others.

Time Now’s projection shows that 16 seats will go to Congress in Goa, 14 to BJP, 4 to AAP and six to other parties in the fray. With a total of 40 assembly seats in the state, the majority mark in Goa is 20.

According to P-MARQ exit polls, BJP and the Congress-led alliance are engaged in a close contest, with both of them projected to win 13-17 seats.

The ETG research for Goa exit polls have given 17-20 seats to BJP, 15-17 to Congress and 1 to 2 to AAP.

BJP win in Manipur

The India Today-Axis My India has predicted 33-43 seats for the BJP in Manipur, 4-8 seats each for the Congress, NPP and NPF and 0-7 seats for others.

According to exit polls by Zee News-DESIGNBOXED, BJP will retain Manipur with 32-38 seats, while Congress allies’ seats will vary between 12-17. The majority mark in Manipur is 31.

The P-MARQ has predicted that the BJP will bag the most 27-31 seats out of 60 seats. Congress will emerge as the second-largest party winning 11-17 seats.

The National People’s Party (NPP) and the Naga People’s Front (NPF) remain behind INC with 6-10 and 2-6 seats, respectively.

India News predicted 23-28 seats for BJP and 10-14 seats for Congress and its allies.

The ABP Majha-C Voter has given 23-27 seats to BJP and 12-16 to Congress.

Uttarakhand

The India Today-Axis My India exit poll has predicted 44% of the total vote share for BJP in Uttarakhand, with 36-46 seats. The Congress could get 40%, which would translate to 20-30 seats, followed by the BSP with 0-2 seats.

The C-Voter exit poll has predicted 26-32 seats for the BJP in Uttarakhand, 32-38 seats for Congress, 0-2 for AAP and 3-7 for others.

Today’s Chanakya exit poll predicted 43 seats for the BJP in Uttarakhand, 24 for the Congress and 3 for others.

The Jan Ki Baat exit poll predicts 32-41 seats for BJP in Uttarakhand, 27-35 seats for Congress, 1 seat for AAP, 1 seat for BSP and 3 seats for others.

Times Now-Veto exit poll has predicted 37 seats for the BJP in Uttarakhand, 31 seats for the Congress and 1 for AAP.

The P-MARQ exit poll that BJP will cross the halfway mark of 35 seats, retaining the 70-seat Uttarakhand assembly. Congress is expected to get 28-34 seats and AAP 0-3 seats.
