Sharmila says Modi is not eligible to enter the state until apologising to the people of Andhra Pradesh…reports Asian Lite News
Andhra Congress chief and Kadapa MP candidate YS Sharmila Reddy sent a radio message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to listen to the “Mann Ki Baat” of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
“You are not eligible to enter the state until you apologize to the people of Andhra Pradesh,” she said.

“You have been deceiving the state for ten years, showing hypocritical affection during elections but neglecting development. We are presenting a charge sheet on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh. If you dare, write an affidavit promising to fulfil the commitments made to the people of the state now,” the APCC chief alleged.
Sharmila Reddy also posed ten questions regarding Modi’s actions over the past decade.
The questions included, “Parliament initially promised special status for the state but later reneged, betraying the state. Jagan initiated destructive actions on projects like Polavaram and is conspiring to reduce it further. Amaravati, the capital, remains incomplete after a decade. Attempts to sell Vishaka Steel, despite local opposition, show insincere intentions and promises like the Kadapa Steel Plant and Visakha Railway Zone were broken, causing injustice.”
“Allegations of a liquor syndicate and inaction on serious issues like adulterated liquor and related deaths. Inaction on attacks and crimes against SCs and STs despite commitments to end their reservation nationally. Corruption in various sectors, including sand, liquor, minerals, illegal contracts, and mismanagement of funds. Failure of authorities like the CBI to act impartially highlights a breakdown in law and order. Failure to fulfil promises of job creation, impacts the youth and unemployed severely,” the questions added.
“Mr. Modi, you owe an apology to the people of Andhra Pradesh every time you set foot on this land,” Sharmila further concluded.
‘Jagan remote-controlled by Modi’
YS Sharmila also hit out at Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday over his “remote-control” remarks against the Congress.
The APCC chief condemned the remarks and alleged that it was CM Reddy who is “remote-controlled” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Jagan Mohan Reddy commented yesterday that the Congress party is remote-controlled by Chandrababu Naidu. Congress party condemns this strongly and that it is Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is being remote-controlled by PM Modi,” Sharmila said while speaking to ANI on Tuesday.
“PM Modi requested for the Gangavaram Port to be given to Adani and Jagan Mohan Reddy obliged, not only one but many such projects. Jagan Mohan Reddy obliged and gave the reliance (RIL group president Parimal Nathwanithe) Rajya Sabha seat. Being a Christian himself Jagan Mohan Reddy saw the atrocities on the Christians in Manipur and still supported the BJP,” she added.
Earlier this week, CM Jagan slammed the opposition in the state for “using his sisters” to beat YSRCP in the state.
“Unable to face me alone in the political arena, TDP-JSP-BJP is united to conspire against me. Unfortunately, my two sisters (referring to Sharmila and Sunita) are being used as part of their conspiracy. It was Congress that tried to hide YSR’s legacy. Congress didn’t even receive as many votes as NOTA did. Further, Congress was responsible for Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation and neglected to include the special category status in the state reorganization act. Will anyone vote for the Congress that has broken the state?” CM Jagan said.
He further alleged that voting for Congress is like voting for Chandrababu.
“Who will benefit if our votes are divided? It will be Chandrababu and BJP,” CM Jagan said.”Our younger sisters have become part of the opposition conspiracy. They are hanging around with those who unfairly defeated Chinnanna (Uncle Vivekananda) in the MLC election and people should be aware of the opposition’s conspiracy to gain political mileage,” he added.
Earlier this year, Sharmila joined Congress and merged her party, the YSR Telangana Party, into Congress.
The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh will be simultaneously held on May 13. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
Andhra Pradesh has 175 Assembly seats, and 25 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to 23 seats. In the Lok Sabha polls, the YSRCP won 22 seats, while the TDP could only win three seats. (ANI)
