A day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired a Cabinet meeting during which he directed his Ministers to prepare an action plan for the next 100 days of the new government as well as a roadmap for the next five years.
In the meeting, PM Modi said that the government led by him would be coming back to power again, and hence, the development work should continue.

He said that after the formation of the government, a roadmap/ blueprint should also be prepared for better implementation of the agenda of the first 100 days, and the next five years.
During the meeting, PM Modi also asked his Ministers to outline key initiatives and deliverables for the next 100 days along with a comprehensive five-year roadmap.
These documents, focusing on the priorities and strategies of the government, are to be submitted to the Cabinet Secretariat.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address election rallies in Jagtial and Shivamogga on Monday and later hold a road show in Coimbatore..
“I will be addressing rallies in Jagtial and Shivamogga today. Later in the evening, will join the roadshow in Coimbatore. Be it Telangana, Karnataka or Tamil Nadu, there is exceptional fervour in the NDA’s favour.” PM Modi posted on X.
Earlier, asserting that the Nationalist Democratic Alliance (NDA) is moving ahead taking regional aspirations and national progress and during its third term after the polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged people of Andhra Pradesh to cast vote in favour of the alliance to ensure speedy development of the state.
PM Modi, while addressing a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) election meeting at Boppudi village in Palnadu district in the presence of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party (JSP) Pawan Kalyan, hit out at the Congress, accusing it of “using and throwing the people of the alliance” in contrast to the BJP.
“NDA alliance moves ahead carrying both regional aspiration and national progress. The support of the BJP in this election, and our partners are continuously increasing, the strength of NDA is increasing, and both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have been supporting the rights of the people here, for a long time. In NDA we take everyone along, but on the other hand, there is the Congress party which has only one agenda – to use and throw the people of the alliance. Today Congress may have formed an INDI alliance, but their thinking remains the same,” PM Modi had said.
Asserting that the NDA’s aim is for ‘Viksit Bharat’ and to build ‘Viksit Andhra Pradesh’, he said a double-engine NDA government in Andhra Pradesh will ensure speedy development of the state.
Notably, the BJP has formed an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
PM Modi addressed the NDA rally ‘Prajagalam’ with the TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for the first time in Palnadu district.
‘Prajagalam’, which translates to ‘voice of the public’, is the first joint public meeting of NDA partners in Andhra in the past ten years.
Jana Sena is contesting the general elections in alliance with the BJP and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh. As per the seat-sharing agreement, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha seats and 10 assembly seats, while the TDP will contest 17 seats and 144 assembly seats.
Janasena will contest two Lok Sabha and 21 assembly seats. The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections nationwide.
According to the EC’s announcement, Andhra Pradesh will hold elections for its 25 Lok Sabha constituencies on May 13th. The coastal state’s elections will take place in just one phase.

‘I am Planning For 2047’: Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he is already planning for the year 2047 adding that he has never worked for headlines but has always ensured to complete his work within deadlines.
When asked at the India Today Conclave whether Prime Minister Modi is already preparing for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, the Prime Minister said,” Find out what Modi is. You are stuck on 2029 but I am planning for 2047.”
PM Modi further mentioned that today the mood of the nation is about making India a Viksit Bharat.
“Today the process of celebrating the biggest democratic festival has started. At a time when the whole world is facing uncertainties, one thing is sure India will keep developing at a fast pace. Today the mood of the nation is about India’s efforts towards becoming the third biggest economy in the world. The mood of the nation is about making India a Viksit Bharat. Whenever I come at such conclave all you have expectations that I give many headlines but I don’t work for headlines, but for deadlines,” he said.
Prime Minister further said that the Northeast region of the country was neglected by the government before 2014 but became a priority under his government.
“Before 2014, the northeast region was always at the bottom of the list of priorities. After 2014, we decided that our ministers and senior officials would tour not only the district headquarters but also the interior parts of the region,” he said.
Highlighting the efforts made in the Northeast region by the BJP-led Centre in the last 10 years, the Prime Minister said that a change in mentality took place under his tenure towards its outlook for the villages in the region.
“Our Central ministers have visited the Northeast region 680 times. I alone went more to the Northeast region, which is more than the combined trips previous Prime Ministers took. We changed the mentality. Those which were called the last villages of India we changed that and started calling them the first villages. 17 of my cabinet ministers visited there and stayed all night,” he said. (ANI)
