RAKEZ concludes a multi-city India roadshow with major partnerships, a new MoU with FICCI, and the finale of the UAE–India Start-up Series under CEPA-driven expansion….reports Asian Lite News
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has concluded a high-impact, multi-city India Roadshow, wrapping up a week of engagements across Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, and New Delhi. Led by Group CEO Ramy Jallad, the roadshow connected RAKEZ with more than 200 Indian companies and strengthened the growing economic momentum under the UAE–India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The visit showcased RAKEZ’s drive to deepen cross-border business collaboration, while simultaneously marking two major milestones: the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the grand finale of the first-of-its-kind UAE–India Start-up Series. Together, these developments underline RAKEZ’s expanding role as a key gateway for Indian enterprises seeking global expansion through the UAE.
Organised alongside FICCI and supported by leading regional chambers in Chennai — including the Tamil Chamber of Commerce, Andhra Chamber of Commerce, Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, and the All India Manufacturers’ Organisation — the roadshow brought together industrialists, entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders across sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, and building materials.
A major highlight came during the New Delhi leg, where RAKEZ CEO Ramy Jallad and FICCI Senior Advisor Manab Majumdar formalised a strategic MoU. The agreement establishes broad areas of cooperation aimed at boosting economic and commercial integration between the two nations.
At each stop, discussions centred on Ras Al Khaimah’s competitive value proposition: its cost-effective industrial ecosystem, streamlined setup processes, strong logistics links, and the potential for Indian companies to establish regional bases, pursue joint ventures, or access wider global markets via the UAE. Executives also explored collaborative opportunities in technology, innovation, and advanced manufacturing — all areas increasingly central to the CEPA framework.
It sets out a pathway for knowledge sharing, joint business events, targeted delegations, and enhanced platforms that will enable Indian enterprises to better leverage CEPA-aligned opportunities.
The signing took place during a high-level roundtable attended by leaders from several industries. The discussions reaffirmed the appetite among Indian companies to use Ras Al Khaimah as a dynamic, cost-efficient base for regional expansion, production, and trade linkages across the Middle East and beyond.
The roadshow concluded with the finale of the UAE–India Start-up Series, held in New Delhi. The initiative — designed under CEPA to identify and promote promising Indian start-ups with global potential — featured a group of innovators from sectors including sustainability, advanced materials, and technology. One of the standouts was Hyderabad-based Bioreform, a sustainable packaging company developing certified biodegradable and compostable alternatives to single-use plastics through a proprietary biopolymer blend. As one of the winners, Bioreform will now receive direct support from RAKEZ to further scale its operations and accelerate its global growth from Ras Al Khaimah.
Reflecting on the roadshow, Ramy Jallad said the engagements reaffirmed the sheer dynamism of India’s business landscape. “India continues to foster one of the world’s most vibrant business environments, and our interactions across Pune, Chennai, and New Delhi reflect the strong appetite among Indian companies to expand into the UAE,” he said. He emphasised that RAKEZ’s strengthened partnership with FICCI and the success of the Start-up Series underscore a shared commitment to innovation, industrial development, and long-term collaboration under CEPA.
The India Roadshow, the MoU with FICCI, and the start-up finale collectively mark an important step forward in enhancing UAE–India trade and investment relations. More importantly, they reinforce RAKEZ’s position as a strategic partner for Indian companies seeking competitive, scalable, and future-driven growth pathways across the region.
