The Rise Of Smarter Gaming Phones

Dual-chip architecture and AI-powered optimisation are transforming mobile gaming and content viewing in India, offering smoother performance and smarter experiences…reports Asian Lite News Desk

Mobile gaming in India has moved well beyond casual entertainment. With smartphones increasingly expected to deliver console-like graphics, responsive controls and long-lasting performance, manufacturers are looking beyond raw processor power to redefine what makes a gaming phone truly capable.

India’s gaming market is projected to grow from around $5 billion in 2026 to $9.89 billion by 2031, according to Mordor Intelligence, with mobile gaming accounting for close to 80 per cent of the market. As smartphones become the primary gaming devices for millions of users, expectations around frame stability, touch response, cooling and battery life are rising.

One of the most significant developments is the growing role of artificial intelligence. Instead of simply adding more processing power, AI can help smartphones use existing hardware more intelligently. Supported technologies can generate intermediate frames, improve visual detail and adjust performance according to what is happening on screen.

This is increasingly relevant to Indian consumers. The Flipkart-Counterpoint Smartphone Insights Report 2026 found that 89 per cent of Indian smartphone buyers consider AI features when making a purchase. AI is therefore moving from an optional feature to an increasingly important part of the smartphone experience.

The shift is also encouraging manufacturers to explore dual-chip architectures. Rather than asking one processor to handle every workload, specialised chips can take responsibility for particular visual or AI functions, potentially allowing the main processor to focus on core computing tasks.

The realme P4s 5G is an example of this approach. The smartphone combines the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra with a dedicated Hyper Vision+ AI Chip. The primary chipset handles core computing, while the additional chip is designed to support visual processing and AI-related tasks.

Its AI capabilities include AI Hyper Motion for smoother frame performance, AI Hyper Clarity for improved visual detail and AI Always-On HDR for enhanced brightness and contrast. These technologies are paired with a 144Hz Samsung 1.5K AMOLED display and up to 3000Hz instantaneous touch sampling, creating a setup designed for fast-paced gaming.

The benefits are not limited to games. The same processing approach can enhance video playback, sports viewing and other visually demanding content by improving motion, clarity and dynamic range. Fast action sequences, for instance, can appear smoother and more detailed.

The phone also incorporates an AI Gaming Partner that combines GT Mode, Cleanup Acceleration, Do Not Disturb and network optimisation. These features are designed to manage background resources and minimise distractions while gaming.

Sustained performance remains another challenge. High frame rates can generate considerable heat, particularly during extended sessions. The P4s 5G addresses this with a 7,000mm² AirFlow VC Cooling System, while its 8,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging are designed to support longer periods of use.

The broader trend suggests that gaming performance is becoming a combination of hardware and software rather than a single specification. Processor speed still matters, but display quality, touch responsiveness, cooling, battery endurance and intelligent resource management increasingly determine the overall experience.

The realme P4s 5G, launching on August 26, brings these elements together in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment. Its dual-chip architecture illustrates how specialised AI processing is beginning to influence not only gaming, but also the way consumers watch films, sports and other content.

As smartphone technology develops, the focus may increasingly shift from maximum specifications to smarter integration. The winners could be devices that make different components work together efficiently, delivering consistent performance rather than simply chasing benchmark records.
