Futuristic silhouettes and graphic designs took centre stage as Pierre Cardin presented its Women’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Paris Fashion Week on October 6, revisiting the fashion house’s long-standing fascination with innovation and modern forms.

The show was among the final presentations of the womenswear ready-to-wear season, which ran from September 28 to October 6. The official Paris Fashion Week collection listing featured 53 looks from the Pierre Cardin presentation.

Under the creative direction of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, the collection continued the label’s exploration of futuristic fashion, with an emphasis on graphic silhouettes and garment construction. The presentation reflected a design identity built around experimentation and a willingness to move beyond conventional shapes.

Pierre Cardin’s legacy has long been associated with fashion that looks towards the future. The designer, who founded his fashion house in 1950, became internationally recognised for his architectural approach to clothing and interest in geometric forms. His work helped establish a distinctive visual language that challenged traditional ideas about how garments should look and fit.

That heritage remains an important reference for the house as it develops new collections. Rather than abandoning its recognisable design direction, the latest presentation revisited its futuristic codes through contemporary womenswear.

The Spring/Summer 2027 collection formed part of a wider Paris Fashion Week programme bringing together established fashion houses and international designers. The season provided a platform for labels to present their interpretations of the modern wardrobe, from practical ready-to-wear pieces to more experimental designs.

For Pierre Cardin, the show placed the relationship between shape, structure and visual impact at the centre of the collection. Its graphic approach connected the house’s historic design language with a new seasonal presentation, keeping experimentation central to its identity.

The collection also highlighted the continued relevance of the label’s futuristic aesthetic in contemporary fashion. More than a reference to the past, that visual language remains a framework through which the house presents its evolving ideas about clothing.

As Paris Fashion Week concluded, Pierre Cardin’s presentation offered another look at a fashion legacy built on innovation, distinctive forms and a forward-looking approach to design.
