Dubai Glows with Ramadan Spirit

The stunning displays are a key highlight of the second edition of the #RamadanInDubai campaign.

Dubai has transformed into a dazzling spectacle of light and artistry in celebration of Ramadan, with grand installations, shimmering lanterns, and intricate motifs adorning key streets and landmarks. The city’s festive atmosphere reflects the values of unity, generosity, and cultural heritage during the Holy Month.

The stunning displays are a key highlight of the second edition of the #RamadanInDubai campaign, launched under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The campaign is spearheaded by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in collaboration with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and several other partners.

A Unified Effort to Enhance the City’s Beauty

The initiative, part of Brand Dubai’s ‘Anwaar Dubai’ project, is aimed at enriching the city’s visual landscape by decorating prominent streets, mosques, and public spaces. Dubai Municipality, Wasl Group, Dubai Holding, Emaar, Majid Al Futtaim, and Al-Futtaim Group have all contributed to bringing the project to life, ensuring an immersive Ramadan experience for residents and visitors.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, emphasised the significance of lighting in enhancing the city’s identity. “Dubai’s streets and landmarks play a crucial role in shaping its character. This initiative aims to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone to experience the essence of Ramadan,” she said.

The decorated areas include Jumeirah Street, Al Khawaneej Street, and Za’abeel Palace Street, all featuring artistic lighting inspired by the themes of Ramadan. These festive illuminations are designed to celebrate tradition while showcasing Dubai’s creativity and innovation.

A Citywide Ramadan Celebration

The initiative has extended to Dubai’s top attractions, with malls, parks, and shopping centres joining the celebrations. Majid Al Futtaim Shopping Malls, including Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Mirdif, have been adorned with festive lights, while Dubai Festival City Mall has introduced special lighting displays to enhance the visitor experience.

Meanwhile, Dubai Municipality has illuminated the historic Clock Roundabout in Deira with themed artistic lighting, and Wasl Group has transformed communities such as Wasl1 and Jumeirah Golf Estate into radiant showcases of Ramadan spirit. Additionally, the return of ‘Ramadan Reflections’ at locations such as DIFC and Al Seef brings a fusion of light and sound projections to the city.

Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, highlighted the importance of creating shared spaces that bring people together in celebration. “The stunning light displays not only enhance Dubai’s architectural beauty but also embody the spirit of generosity and unity that defines Ramadan,” he said.

Capturing the Spirit of Ramadan

The second edition of #RamadanInDubai continues to strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for cultural celebrations. As part of the ‘Year of Community’ in the UAE, the initiative reflects authentic Emirati customs while fostering a collective experience of joy and festivity.

With government, semi-government, and private sector entities working together, the campaign has successfully brightened Dubai’s skyline, reinforcing the city’s commitment to community spirit and cultural heritage during the Holy Month.
