Hyundai Motor India targets 2 million connected cars by 2030 as AI, digital services and smart mobility reshape the country’s automotive market…reports Asian Lite News Desk
Hyundai Motor India is accelerating its connected mobility ambitions, announcing plans to achieve 2 million cumulative connected car sales by 2030 as demand for software-enabled vehicles continues to rise across the country.
The automaker said it already has more than 800,000 connected vehicles on Indian roads and is targeting 1 million connected car sales by 2027, driven by the growing adoption of its AI-powered Hyundai Bluelink platform.
First introduced with the Hyundai Venue in 2019, Bluelink has evolved into one of the company’s key digital technologies, offering over 70 connected features focused on safety, convenience and vehicle security. These include remote vehicle monitoring, health diagnostics, real-time location tracking, trip history, remote commands, digital key access, in-car payments through Hyundai Pay, home-to-car connectivity and remote immobilisation.
The platform also supports more than 450 AI-powered voice commands in five languages, enabling drivers to interact with vehicle functions using natural voice controls.
Hyundai said its upcoming mass-market electric SUV will feature the latest generation of connected car technology as standard across all variants, highlighting the company’s strategy of integrating intelligent software with electric mobility.
“The growing adoption of connected vehicles reflects the evolving expectations of customers and the increasing role of technology in shaping mobility,” said Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India. He added that the next-generation connected platform would strengthen the convergence of connected and electric mobility while delivering a more future-ready ownership experience.
The company has steadily expanded Bluelink’s capabilities over the past six years. After introducing over-the-air map updates in 2020, Hyundai rolled out next-generation AVNT connected technology in 2022, followed by its Connected Car Navigation Cockpit with controller over-the-air update capability in 2025 as part of its Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) roadmap for India.
Beyond convenience features, Hyundai says Bluelink has also delivered significant real-world safety benefits. The platform has assisted more than 500,000 motorists through SOS and roadside assistance services, supported around 15,000 crash notification interventions, and helped law enforcement agencies trace and recover stolen vehicles.
With connected technology becoming a key differentiator in modern vehicles, Hyundai is betting that software, AI and digital services will play an increasingly central role in the future of mobility.
