The UK and Thailand are stepping up cooperation in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and digital innovation. The push comes ahead of London Tech Week 2026 as both sides seek stronger investment and business partnerships..reports London Daily News Network
The United Kingdom and Thailand are moving to deepen collaboration in artificial intelligence, technology and investment following a high-level conference in Bangkok that connected technology companies, investors and industry leaders ahead of London Tech Week 2026.
Organised by the British Embassy in Bangkok, the UK–Thailand AI Conference was held at Capella Bangkok on March 10 and brought together leading figures from the technology and venture capital sectors. The event aimed to strengthen business links between the two countries while encouraging Thai participation in London Tech Week, scheduled to take place from June 8 to 12.
The conference highlighted the increasing importance of innovation and advanced technologies in the UK–Thailand relationship, particularly as both countries seek to expand cooperation in future-facing industries.
Tech partnership takes focus
The gathering formed part of events marking 170 years of diplomatic relations between the UK and Thailand. Officials said the milestone year provides an opportunity to strengthen partnerships in emerging sectors including artificial intelligence, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare technology and engineering biology.
Matt Western MP, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Thailand, said the conference demonstrated the scale of opportunities that can emerge when businesses, investors and innovators from both countries work together.
He noted that collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced engineering, health innovation and next-generation manufacturing could open new avenues for economic growth, research partnerships and cross-border investment.
According to Western, the UK is keen to build long-term partnerships with Thailand’s growing technology sector and support closer connections between startups, corporations and venture capital networks in both countries.

Businesses and investors connect
The event brought together speakers and executives from major UK and Thai technology companies, research institutions and venture capital firms. Organisations represented at the conference included School.how, Amity Solutions AI Research and Application Center, SeaX Ventures, Techsauce, Beacon Ventures, Xplor Ventures, Disrupt Health Impact Fund and SCB10X.
Participants discussed investment opportunities, startup collaboration and the potential for deeper technology partnerships between the two countries. The discussions focused on practical cooperation and commercial opportunities rather than policy-level dialogue alone.
Industry representatives highlighted Thailand’s rapidly expanding digital economy and the growing interest among investors in sectors such as artificial intelligence, health technology and advanced manufacturing.
London Tech Week next milestone
In his closing remarks, Western encouraged Thai companies, investors and entrepreneurs to attend London Tech Week in June, describing the event as a major global platform for innovation and technology collaboration.
London Tech Week 2026 will run from June 8 to 12, with its main exhibition and conference stages taking place at Olympia London from June 8 to 10. The event is expected to bring together thousands of technology leaders, founders, investors and policymakers from around the world.
Organisers say the event serves as a meeting point for innovators, enterprises and investors seeking to explore new ideas, partnerships and business opportunities in rapidly evolving technology sectors.
UK promotes global tech role
The Bangkok conference also formed part of the UK’s broader effort to position itself as a key international partner for Thailand’s digital transformation and future industries.
British officials said the embassy would continue working with Thai partners to facilitate market entry for companies, support cross-border collaboration and strengthen long-term ties between the two countries’ technology ecosystems.
By promoting links between startups, investors and research institutions, the UK hopes to reinforce London’s reputation as a global technology hub while building stronger partnerships with fast-growing digital economies such as Thailand.
