His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, attended the Omani–Franco Business Forum in Paris, marking a significant step in strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The forum, held during His Majesty’s official visit to France, brought together senior officials, business leaders and institutions from both nations to explore new areas of partnership across multiple sectors.

In his remarks, His Majesty highlighted the steady growth of economic ties between Oman and France and called for further efforts to expand investment opportunities and develop joint projects that can strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The event was organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and MEDEF International, in collaboration with Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and the Oman Investment Authority (OIA). It aimed to reinforce strategic partnerships and encourage private sector collaboration.

A series of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed during the forum across sectors including energy, industry, automotive, education, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, aviation, space and renewable energy.

In the space sector, Omani company Etlaq signed an agreement with French firm Latitude to support the launch of light rockets from Oman’s Etlaq spaceport. MBsat also signed an agreement with Telespazio for satellite ground station operations and services.

In aviation, Ankaa Space and Technologies partnered with Thales to serve as Oman’s main contractor for the Civil Aviation Authority, including the supply and operation of new air traffic control radar systems.

In transport, Al Hashar Group signed an agreement with Renault to distribute vehicles in Oman, while Mohsin Haider Darwish Group reached a deal with Michelin for tyre supply.

Energy partnerships included a deal between National Energy and Engineering Company and Sagemcom to assemble smart electricity meters in Oman, while Al Fajar Al Alamia signed an agreement with Saint-Gobain to explore investment in the gypsum sector.

In luxury goods, Amouage signed a memorandum with L’Oréal focusing on fragrance manufacturing, talent development and expertise exchange.

Education and technology agreements were also announced, including partnerships between Ghubaira International and French institutions covering e-learning, cybersecurity certification and AI applications.

A 120-megawatt wind power project involving Bahwan Group and EDF Group was also highlighted, along with a satellite development contract between Oman’s Space Communication Technologies and Airbus Defence and Space.

Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas said the forum reflected strong private sector confidence and growing economic ties, supported by Oman’s leadership and Vision 2040 goals.

He said the presence of both leaders underscored a shared commitment to expanding investment and innovation-driven partnerships.

The forum was attended by the official Omani delegation and French business leaders.
