Air Zimbabwe has announced the resumption of its direct scheduled passenger service between Harare and London Gatwick, restoring a key international air link between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.
The national carrier said the route resumed operations on July 22 and will operate three times a week between Harare and London Gatwick.
According to the airline, flights will depart Harare on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while return services from London Gatwick will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Air Zimbabwe will operate from the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport.
The airline described the reopening of the route as a significant milestone in its history, saying it reflects its commitment to restoring international connectivity and strengthening Zimbabwe’s links with global markets.
It said the service is expected to support tourism, trade, investment and travel for the Zimbabwean diaspora while contributing to the country’s wider economic engagement with the United Kingdom.
To mark the relaunch, Air Zimbabwe has introduced promotional fares. One-way tickets from London to Harare start at £490, while return fares begin at £675. Fares from Harare to London start at US$495 one way and US$900 for a return journey, subject to availability and applicable terms and conditions.
Bookings are available through the airline’s website, Air Zimbabwe sales offices and accredited travel agents.
The Harare-London service will be operated using an Airbus A330-300 under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) wet lease agreement with Spanish carrier Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas.
Under the arrangement, Plus Ultra will provide the aircraft, flight crew, maintenance and insurance, while Air Zimbabwe will manage ticket sales, passenger services and the commercial operation of the route.
