His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, toured the exhibition halls of Dubai Airshow 2025 at Dubai World Central (DWC), where he reviewed the newest breakthroughs in aviation, aerospace, air mobility and defence technology. The visit underscored the UAE’s ambition to remain at the forefront of an industry undergoing rapid global transformation.
Accompanied by senior members of Dubai’s leadership — H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports and Emirates Airline; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee — Sheikh Mohammed spent the day engaging with cutting-edge innovations that reflect the ongoing evolution of global air transport.
Sheikh Mohammed said Dubai Airshow has grown into one of the world’s leading events for aviation and aerospace, bringing together major manufacturers, innovators and policymakers to shape the next era of flight. He noted that the UAE’s role in the global aviation ecosystem continues to expand, supported by policies and infrastructure designed to attract investment and accelerate technological progress.
Highlighting the aviation sector’s critical contribution to the UAE economy, Sheikh Mohammed said the Airshow serves as a catalyst for international cooperation, enabling partnerships that reinforce Dubai’s position as a global hub for advanced aerospace industries. He said the strong international participation at this year’s edition demonstrates the level of confidence global companies place in the UAE as a platform for research, testing and development.
He added that the UAE remains committed to investing in future-focused aviation technologies, empowering national talent and creating opportunities for innovators from around the world to shape the next generation of air mobility from Dubai. The country’s strategy, he said, continues to prioritise sustainability, efficiency and the integration of smart systems across all aviation sectors.
Sheikh Mohammed also emphasised the need for robust collaboration between public and private sectors to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies. Dubai’s longstanding approach, he said, is built on partnership — bringing together regulators, industry leaders and innovators to rapidly test, scale and deploy new ideas that can transform the global aviation landscape.
During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed attended a series of aerial displays, including a performance by the UAE’s aerobatic team, Al Fursan, alongside international formations showcasing advanced military and commercial aircraft. The shows reflected the technical excellence and engineering capabilities that continue to define the Airshow’s reputation.
He also visited several pavilions featuring next-generation civil aviation systems, sustainable aircraft technologies, autonomous drones, digital aviation tools, and green propulsion systems. Exhibitors from around the world unveiled new platforms focused on safety, efficiency and environmental performance — reinforcing Dubai Airshow’s role as a launchpad for breakthrough aviation solutions.
