India and Saudi Arabia have discussed ways to strengthen coordination and improve the Haj experience for Indian pilgrims, with a focus on digital integration, transportation, accommodation and healthcare services for Haj 2027.
Srivatsa Krishna, Secretary of India’s Ministry of Minority Affairs, met Abdulaziz Al Mathami, Deputy Minister for Planning and Digital Transformation at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah, on Sunday.
The meeting was also attended by India’s Consul General in Jeddah, Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, and members of the Nusuk Masar team.
The two sides discussed the technical integration of Indian and Saudi Haj portals and the use of emerging technologies to improve coordination and streamline services for pilgrims.
“They held discussions on technical integration of Indian and Saudi Haj portals, and leveraging emerging technologies to enhance coordination, streamline services, and further improve the Haj experience for Indian pilgrims,” the Consulate General of India in Jeddah said in a post on X.
The Indian delegation also met Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahim Wazzan, Deputy Minister for Haj and Umrah, for discussions on arrangements for Indian pilgrims in Madinah.
The talks focused on accommodation, transportation, coordination and other essential arrangements. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and ensuring a smooth, safe and comfortable Haj 2027 for Indian pilgrims.
Earlier on Sunday, the delegation met Abdulfattah S. Mashat, Vice Minister for Haj and Umrah, to review preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage.
The Consulate General said the discussions covered arrangements for Haj 2027, with emphasis on strengthening cooperation, improving coordination and ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for Indian pilgrims.
The latest meetings are part of a wider series of discussions between Indian and Saudi officials ahead of Haj 2027.
On Thursday, Krishna met Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Vice Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, in Riyadh. The discussions focused on Haj flight arrangements and other transportation facilities for Indian pilgrims.
The previous day, the Indian official met Nouf Suliman Alnumair, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation in Riyadh, to discuss medical and healthcare services for Indian pilgrims during Haj 2027.
The discussions come as India and Saudi Arabia work to coordinate arrangements covering multiple aspects of the annual pilgrimage, including travel, accommodation, transportation, healthcare and digital services.
The planned integration of Haj-related digital platforms is expected to support closer coordination between the two countries and help streamline services for pilgrims.
The two sides are continuing consultations as preparations for Haj 2027 progress, with the focus remaining on improving coordination and ensuring safe and efficient arrangements for Indian pilgrims.
